Beijing, October 27, 2011: The 6th "Most Globally Competitive Chinese Companies" Award is announced today by Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and the Global Entrepreneur Magazine. 20 companies are awarded "Most Globally Competitive Chinese Companies", six of which are awarded "Best Company Award in Global Operation" and other individual awards. The Press Conference guests include Jason Ding, Senior Partner and Vice President of Roland Berger Greater China; Liu Zhouwei, Publisher and Managing Director of Global Entrepreneur Magazine; Chen Jinya, President of Alcoa Asia Pacific; Wu Changqi, Vice Dean of Guanghua School of Management, Peking University; Zhang Xia, Senior Vice President, CKO and CTO of Neusoft.
To record the internationalization of Chinese companies, Roland Berger and Global Entrepreneur Magazine started "Most Globally Competitive Chinese Companies" Award in 2006. The Award is to assess the development of Chinese companies' international operations through the dimensions of global market and global competitiveness. Meanwhile, the jury consists of not only scholars at home and abroad, but also the these companies' counterparts in MNCs and VC/PE.
"Don't rush into globalization." reminds Mr. Charles-Edouard Bouée, President of Roland Berger Asia. "First, Chinese entrepreneurs need to learn and understand different management cultures, then find out which one fits best. Second, they should define Chinese management culture so as to interpret them to the world. Third, they should control the expansion pace."
By looking back on the past, Mr. Liu Zhouwei says, "Chinese enterprises' globalization have stepped into the matured phase since 2005, when this movement started on a large scale. In the past year, there are few notable transactions, but Chinese enterprises have become wiser and more patient when it comes to M & A. We are glad to see this coming."
